I remember when
You were nine I was ten
Used to steal a kiss then run away
Always hand in hand
Building castles in the sand
Used to play together every day

I see your smile
In every sunny sky
I hear your laughter in the rain
And in my every song
The memory lives on
Lord I haven’t seen you in so long

You just turned twenty one
I was ready to move on
(I) couldn’t settle down I was twenty two
A different town each day
Took me far away
So many miles away from you

I see your smile
In every sunny sky
I hear your laughter in the rain
And in my every song
The memory lives on
Lord I haven’t seen you in so long

Now I’m getting old
At the end of the road
I learned the truth along the way
I should have let you know
That I really loved you so
Now I guess I’ll never hear you say

I see your smile
In every sunny sky
I hear your laughter in the rain
And in my every song
The memory lives on
Lord I haven’t seen you in so long

I remember when
You were nine I was ten

Song Info

A song of regret...

A song of lost love...

Of searching the world to chase your dreams...

And eventually realising that it was always right there with you.

Sadly, jiva never got to perform this song live, but Anthony John Clarke has been known to play it in his live set... a beautiful and powerful rendition.

'Always hand in hand...'
